BBC Countryfile once again highlighted the excellent conservation work of grouse moors on its popular Sunday night (June 5) programme.
“Invermark Estate is a haven for wildlife; it is a great place to see black grouse, red deer and the illusive golden eagle.” said Countryfile presenter Naomi Wilkinson.
The Invermark Estate is in Angus, Scotland and during the programme Gamekeeper Andy Malcolm shows presenter Naomi Wilkinson around the beautiful estate and highlights some of the varied wildlife thriving there.
Andy explains how shooting provides an essential income for the protection of this remarkable land. The programme demonstrates how many rare species are benefitting from grouse moor management.
Without this, many species would not be thriving as they are on so many moors managed for grouse shooting.
